New Brunswick’s vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem has been growing over the last decade or so organically in part due to the strength and fortitude of our research and development environment, as well as the ground breaking efforts of Canada’s first Computer Science Faculty at the University of New Brunswick and finally due to the overall entrepreneurial and innovative nature of our citizens.

Working quietly behind the scenes, New Brunswick is known for its innovation. Two of Canada’s largest exits happened right here! Salesforce acquired Radian6 and IBM acquired Q1 Labs. Both companies were New Brunswick start-ups.

While growth has been organic, CyberNB is working with industry, government and academia to maximize the sector by harnessing and ensuring that members of our ecosystem have access to the right digital and physical infrastructure required to maintain New Brunswick as the epicentre for cybersecurity in Canada.

With more than 60 research organizations in Fredericton alone, innovation happens here.
