Richard is the Interim In-Country Manager for Siemens Technologies Cyber Research, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick and the Canadian Executive Business Development lead for Digital Grid, Siemens Smart Infrastructure focusing on innovation to secure Critical Infrastructure. This includes research and opportunity development for Critical Infrastructure Protection for Cyber Physical Systems.
Richard has been employed by Siemens for more than 30 years and held leadership roles in various parts of the organization including postings abroad, corporate functions, and regional accountabilities in the US and Europe.
Richard’s commitment to enable and secure innovation plays a key role in growing Canadian capability and global domain knowledge creation. Examples include launching product development for new offerings in Customer Care, Smart Meter Integration & Enablement, Electric Vehicle Charging, Strategic Grid Transformation, Distributed Energy Management, Power Generation Fleet Optimization, and most recently the global Center of Competency for Critical Infrastructure Protection based in Canada as part of Siemens global operations.
Richard participates in various industry associations including the board of CYBERNB | CIPnet and an advisory member of the NB Critical Infrastructure Gold Committee. Historically, he has been Board Chair and Past Chair of the National Electricity Roundtable and provides advisory support for the Smart Grid Innovation Network, the Canadian Electricity Association, and the Ontario Energy Association Corporate Partners Committee, as well as the Advisory Board of the National Smart Micro Grid Network.
